Vindelälven is one of Europe’s last wild rivers! The river is very popular among the fly-fishermen. The world cup in fly-fishing was hold in the region in the years of 2001 and 2005, and the European cup was hold in the years of 1998 and 2004.
The local inhabitants often go fishing with boat near the rapids.
You find some of the best fishing-water of Vindelälven in this region. In the beginning of the summer fishing in Juktån is recommended, also Gargån and Staggbäcken are good for fly-fishing.
Lakes with planted fish The region has a number of lakes there salmon trout and char are planted. Fishing is permitted from the 2nd Saturday in March until water is frozen over in the autumn.
Fishing periods Grayling and salmon trout: the whole summer- approximately from 15th of May till the end of September. Salmon: in August and the beginning of September. Fishing of salmon is prohibited from 15th of September till 15th of October (2006).
Pike, whitefish, and perch
Vindelälven and streams In the still waters between the rapids – you find whitefish, pike and perch. The pike you may fish from land, but to get out to the perch and the whitefish you should rent a rowboat.
Wilde lakes There are plenty of lakes in the area and in most of them perch and pike exists naturally. With the exception of the lakes there fishes have been planted Canoe or rubber boat is to recommend.
Fishing periods The whole year Pike-fishing is great in the early summer.
NOTE THAT ALL FISHING IN THE AREA REQUIRES A FISHING CARD!
General information and prices Wind shields with fire places are put out in some places along the fishing-waters. There are also some places there you can stay over night, some of them are open and some of them you may rent.
Guides If you want you may rent a guide, a local resident or a professional fishing guide. The costs for a local resident is 100 SEK/hour and a professional fishing guide you may book in advance for 1 500 SEK/day.
Contact person When you arrive you will get help and information from your contact person in the village, this is to help you to get out as much as possible on your stay here. You will also get detailed maps which will help you to find.
Lodging We offer you a self-casting accommodation in our school. There are beds for up to 10 persons. There is a modern kitchen with fridge and freezer, toilets, showers and a sauna. Bed-linens and towels are not included.

10 days: 1400 SEK/person. You buy the fishing card when you arrive. Annual season-ticket - 300 SEK
